An evening with Alastair Gibson - Carbon Art

Alastair Gibson, renowned artists and Formula 1 Chief Mechanic exhibits at The Deep.

After a long motor sport career as Lead Mechanic for the Benetton F1 Team and as race team Chief Mechanic for the BAR and Honda Grand Prix Teams, Alastair has turned his engineering expertise to the world of art. Using recycled F1 car parts sourced from Grand Prix teams his passion for art, engineering and the natural world come together through the medium of carbon fibre sculpture.

Now in his 10th year as a full time artist and is recognised as a forerunner in carbon fibre sculpture.

The evening includes a self-guided tour of these unique carbon sculptures, set amongst the backdrop of The Deep, guests will enjoy tasty street food and a talk from the man himself along with the opportunity to find out more in a Q&A session.

A range of drinks will be available from the bar including a selection of Yorkshire gins and craft beers. There will also be an opportunity to purchase some of Alastair’s smaller works.
